Case Studies

Over almost forty years in business, we have undertaken a myriad of work ranging from the regeneration of a 14 acre derelict steel foundry site and multiple other previously developed sites, to the promotion of large scale greenfield projects. Here are a few of our past projects.

Cammell Laird Foundry, Penistone

Yorkshire Land Limited acquired the 14 Acre derelict site in 1994 and immediately set about its regeneration for residential development, an arduous process which took over 3 years to complete.  We then sold the site to David Wilson Homes for a development of 150 family homes.

More details of the history of this site are available here.

Hoyland Umbrella Factory

We were approached by the owner of the 18 acre former Hoyland Umbrella Factory, Chapelthorpe Plc, who recognised our company's planning and development expertise and following negotiations, we agreed a deal to take the Brownfield site forward for re-development.

Whilst the planning application for the redevelopment of the site was submitted in the name of CALA Homes.  Yorkshire Land Limited was the driving force behind the scenes and, following much hard work and persistence, the application for 141 homes was ultimately approved in 2006 and the site was subsequently re-developed into the attractive residential estate that it is today.

Cumberworth Road Allotments

We purchased this former allotment site in the West Yorkshire village of Skelmanthorpe at Auction in London and subsequently obtained planning permission for its development with 41 homes, with a new allotment site having being facilitated as part of our proposals.  Once planning permission had been obtained, we sold the site to Bovis Homes who developed the approved scheme.

Mill Farm, Oxspring

We purchased this derelict former corn mill site, which was situated within the Green Belt, during the mid 1990's and subsequently obtained planning permission for 16 detached executive homes before selling the site to David Wilson Homes who developed the approved scheme.
